  • Who wants some Toert?

“This looks like an apple, but it’s a tomato.”

A few months ago the big city of Antwerp was invaded by a load of messages from the two persons collective Toert. A personal view on daily life, to stress its absurdity and to invite people to stand still instead of walking through/away. They gathered all their weird, but original actions on a charming little website (Dutch version only). I bet they got a big ‘A’ for this graduation project. Good job, girls!

  • A refugee camp in a train station.

  • Sunday June 20, it was World Refugee Day. To remember people of the sad situation millions of refugees live in we created an eye-catching stunt for the UN Refugee Agency. We transformed the main entrance of the national train station in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg into a miniature refugee camp. 3,000 blue cards symbolized the “famous” blue tents. The main objective was to make people aware about the millions of refugees worldwide. By taking home this simple card or by becoming member of the UNHCR Facebook group, people showed they had a small thought left for all those refugees whose only home is a little blue tent.

  • Young Creative Competition 2010

  • Each year the Creative Club of Belgium organizes the Young Creatives Competition (open to advertising professionals up to 28 years old). The winning team goes to Cannes and participates to the Young Lions Competition, where they compete against teams from all over the world.

The briefing was very simple: “Make more people (involved in the advertising world) join the Club”. Knowing that without members, there wouldn’t be any Club and we would be missing a lot!

Both our creative teams participated. And these ads are what came out of our brains:

    +++

And with this last one we even ended 2nd!! For those who don’t know the Belgian agencies, these are the original names:

    - Happiness Brussels

    - Famous

    - Air

    - OpenHere

    - Mortierbrigade

We’ll have another try next year, for sure! :-)
By the way, the winners from this edition are Najate El Achari and Jerome Van Den Broeck. Congrats to both of you and good luck in Cannes!!

  • Canceled

In a big city as Ghent, people organize a lot of big events. And all these events have their own promotion tools. Therefore the city of Ghent provided a lot of canvass throughout the city. To keep everything clear and proper. But after a while little events were overwhelmed by the big boys with their big posters. So the little ones looked for other media like city walls, trash bins or electric cabins to put their stuff on. Result: the whole city covered with posters and an unhappy mayor.

Instead of giving a fine for each infringement, Daniel Termont came up with a quite remarkable alternative: let’s put on each of these posters the message ‘canceled’ or ‘new date’.

    Clever, fun and effective.
